Man United announce deal – United open to striker deal – Ten Hag wants seria A star at Manchester United
Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –
Erik ten Hag has extended his contract at Manchester United, and he is delighted with the new deal
Ten Hag led United to a third place finish in his first season in charge in the 2022-23 season, also securing the Carabao Cup. The 2023-24 campaign however saw the club drop to eighth, eliminated from the Champions League by Christmas and lose 13 league games – their worst record of the Premier League era.
New Manchester United minority owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INOES conducted an end-of-season review and even held talks with former Bayern Munich Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.
But despite finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, the United hierarchy determined ten Hag was the right man to take the club forward next season, and they have now agreed to extend his contract at the club.
And after the deal was announced – Ten Hag opened up and said: ‘I am very pleased to have reached agreement with the club to continue working together,’ ten Hag said.
‘Looking back at the past two years, we can reflect with pride on two trophies and many examples of progression from where we were when I joined.
‘However, we must also be clear that there is still lots of hard work ahead to reach the levels expected of Manchester United, which means challenging for English and European titles.’

Look, Manchester United had a poor season last year but still finished up with a trophy and European football – that is what football is all about right? Trophies?
In two years he has won two cups – there isnt a manager out there that would be unhappy with that record and it was the right decision to keep him at the club – despite all the negativity around the club.
TEN HAG TO MAKE UGARTE DECISION –
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag may scupper any interest in Manuel Ugarte – as he wants to keep Sofyan Amrabat.
Ugarte, 23, joined the French club from Sporting last summer after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Portugal. He moved to Europe from South America as a teenager, months after debuting for the senior Uruguay side
While he was a first-team regular during the first-half of the season under Luis Enrique, he lost his place in the side in the second-half of the season.
PSG are eager to recoup the £51m they spent on the 23-year-old with Fabrizio Romano recently reporting that a number of clubs are very much interested in trying to get a bargain transfer deal done this summer.
According to Fichajes, Manuel Ugarte would be open to the idea of joining Manchester United this summer window after the French giants offered him to a number of clubs in order to get their money back.
However – theres a new claim on the Sun website which has claimed that Ten Hag made decide to scupper any potential deal for Ugarte – as he wants Amrabat back at the club.
The Morocco anchorman is back with parent club Fiorentina but is also keen to make the move back to Old Trafford – meaning that a new fee would need to be agreed between the two clubs.

If Manchester United really wanted to sign the player this summer – if they believed Ugarte would add to the side – then we are sure that the board would get a transfer deal done.
But if Ten Hag would prefer to bring back Amrabat – then the board need to make sure that happens as he was solid for the club last season – it will be interesting to see how this all plays out that is for sure.
RASHFORD TO LEAVE?
It has again been claimed that Manchester United are now open to the idea of letting Marcus Rashford leave the club this summer window.
Rashford has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season and looks nothing like the player that netted 30 goals for MAN UNITED just a few seasons ago.
He has really struggled this season under boss Erik Ten Hag and has only managed to score 8 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils, which is not good enough for a player of his ability.
However – there is again talk that Manchester United would be open to the idea of letting their academy star leave the club and there has been some stunning speculation that the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle may be interested in a potential deal for the man.
The Sun have claimed that Manchester United are ready to lower their asking price for Marcus Rashford this summer as they look to get his £325k-a-week wages off the books.
Former Liverpool star Jose Enrique recently urged Rashford to quit Manchester United – Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: “In my opinion, he 100% has to leave Manchester United. There’s too much pressure on his shoulders now and people are criticising him too frequently. He’s never out of the spotlight.
“I just think that mentally for Rashford, Manchester United has really affected him, he became the club’s talisman at a young age and that is a lot of pressure – he needs to leave England.”

If the reports are true and Manchester United are open to the idea of letting Rashford leave – there will surely be quite a few clubs that are interested in the player as he is top class when he is on top of his game.
