Man United are reportedly working on a deal to sign Aalanta star Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

Man United look like a side that will no push on to start challenging for that Premier League title next season after hiring a boss that has been able to get the best out of his players.

This transfer window will give the Dutchman the chance to add some players to the side that will improve key areas of the pitch – and a new forward is something that Ten Hag wants at Old Trafford.

Hojlund’s rapid rise at the Serie A outfit means they have placed a huge price tag on him.

The Dane, who scored nine times last season, has four-years remaining on his deal in Bergamo, putting Atalanta in a commanding position.

They are seeking £86m if they are to sell the 20-year-old, according to reports, which would be well beyond United. They had been hoping to pay around £45m for Hojlund

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth said: “Manchester United are still working on a deal to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund.

“But like Andre Onana, there is a gap between what Atalanta want and what United are prepared to pay.

“United are thought to be encouraged by a growing feeling both Onana and Hojlund want to join.”

IS HOJLUND WORTH THE MONEY

Hojlund may be a very talented striker that has a bright future in the game – but Man United need a more ready-made forward that will bang in more than nine goals.

So it would be a waste of £86 million to sign the lad right now.
