Arsenal and Man United make move? Overmars announces ‘concrete offer’ has arrived for 19-assist star Neres
Ajax have received a ‘concrete offer’ for rumoured long-tern Arsenal and Manchester United target David Neres, says director of football Marc Overmars.
With Arsenal seeking to get back inside the Champions League next season, Gunners boss Unai Emery has been eyeing up a number of possible deals for players that will improve the side, with a winger high up on the shopping list.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to get United back challenging for titles again next season and there has been a lot of speculation in the media that he wants another winger to come in and possible replace the departing Alexis Sanchez, who has been linked with a move away from the club.
And according to recent reports, both sides have reportedly been interested in the Brazilian for quite some time with the winger demonstrating his scoring abilities against Real Madrid and Juventus this season.
The talented 22-year old Neres has netted an impressive 19 assists in all competitions for the Ajax this season, as they sought to reach a Champions League finals against Liverpool, and Overmars told Dutch media a bid from an unnamed club has come in for the Brazilian.
Overmars was quoted on the Daily Express: “Next week we are going to the table [for discussions] with his guidance.
“For David, one club’s interest is concrete, with an offer. We will then talk about that, but it is the intention that we as Ajax are leading [the discussions].
“He was able to leave for China last winter, but we didn’t let him go. Look how it worked out for Ajax, but also for him; he is now an international with Brazil.”
The Premier League is a dream for many to play in and even though the Brazilian is not a superstar player that many fans would love to see arrive, he is tipped to become one of the best wingers in the game.
Neres is a very exciting talent.
