Manchester United told ‘to go all out’ and bring world class £60 million defender to Old Trafford and not Sancho

John Barnes has urged Manchester United to go all out for Kalidou Koulibaly instead of Jadon Sancho.

Koulibaly has firmly established himself as one of the very best centre-backs over in Italy over the past few seasons and his performances have led to rumours that he is coming to the Premier League

The 29-year-old defender has been linked with big-money moves to Manchester United for months now, but the Red Devils have been focusing on their attack before they start trying to add to that back-line.

And amid all the speculation that a move could be made, Barnes has urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a move and try to bring Koulibaly to the Premier League by the end of the transfer window, rather than going for Sancho

He told BonusCodeBets: “Manchester United should look to sign a player like Kalidou Koulibaly, he has all the trademarks of a player they need in the heart of defence.

“As well as that, they should definitely sign a defensive midfielder as they look rather weak back there.

“Everyone talks about Jadon Sancho playing with Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes if they were to bring him in, but there is no good being joyful about these options, if they can’t defend or have a hardworking defensive midfield players to support them when they don’t have the ball.”

Look, we have said it before and we will say it again, Koulibaly would be a world class signing for Manchester United if they were able to reach a deal.

So they need to get this deal done, or miss out on another player that could send a statement to the rest of the Premier League.

Sancho would be a good signing, but Koulibaly is the player that United need now.

I beg to differ with John Barnes. Manchester United needs an attack that can unlock the most stubborn defencss of the League. Sancho and or Daka have that type of creativity. Tuanzebe, Mengi et al can manage the central defense.
