Arsenal open talks to sign £225,000-a-week Frenchman Rabiot but Manchester United now in contact to sign midfielder
Reports are claiming that Manchester United are eyeing up a possible summer deal for Arsenal target Adrien Rabiot.
Arsenal have been in the transfer headlines for weeks now as they are seemingly linked with every player that is in Europe and not happy at their respective club, and it seems that they are at it again.
Rabiot, 25, joined Juventus on a free transfer after allowing his Paris Saint-Germain contract to expire in June 2019, but his move has not really worked out and the six-capped France international has completed just eight 90-minute Serie A fixtures this season.
He has remained a target of Arsenal, particularly now that the Gunners are looking to strengthen their midfield and replace Mesut Ozil, who is heavily tipped to finally pack his bags and depart the Arsenal at the end of the season.
Reports in the media over the past few weeks have even suggested that Arsenal have begun talks about a possible £225,000-a-week move to the Emirates in the summer window.
The Mail reckons that Mikel Arteta sees him as the player who would transform the performance of his other midfielders, and the perfect partner for Mateo Guendouzi, but the Frenchman has many teams looking to sign him.
And ACCORDING TO THE DAILY MAIL, Manchester United are now ready to swoop in and offer him a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils might be forced into cashing in on the unsettled Paul Pogba this summer and they would need a replacement for the Frenchman, and the report further claims that Manchester United has held talks with the player’s mother, who happens to also be his agent, over a summer move.
He joined the Italians in the summer after running down his contract at PSG, but he has not fulfilled his potential over at the Italian giants and has not looked settled since his big money move from PSG.
Both United and Arsenal need a player like him in the centre of the park, and if he is on the market, both would be very lucky to try and get a deal done.
