£60 million Dutchman Van der Beek announces ‘its is a good sign’ that Manchester United want me

Ajax forward Donny van de Beek believes it is a ‘good sign’ that he has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The midfielder was part of Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals and scored the decisive goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the Dutch side took a 1-0 lead against Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the first leg, and was a star performer in the second leg loss to the London club.

He has become one of the most coveted players in Europe after helping Ajax win the League, the Dutch Cup as well as Champions League success and there has been a lot of transfer speculation that some of Europes biggest clubs could make a move.

UNITED boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has become a fan of the exciting Dutchman after seeing him impressive performances, and with the Red Devils boss keen to improve his midfield this window, he is ready to battle the likes of Napoli, Barcelona and Real Madrid for De Beeks signature.

And although Van der Beek has suggested that he wants to stay put for now, he has admitted that ‘it is a good sign’ that he is continually linked with a move to clubs like United.

Speaking to FOX Sports Netherlands about the prospect of moving in the January transfer window, Van de Beek said: “It is not that I can or want to do something at the moment.

“I have said it before, and I will say it again: I will remain at Ajax this season. And maybe next season as well.

“These reports about Real Madrid or Man United are a good sign, but it is not important now. I’ve said I will stay at Ajax and I will do so for 100 per cent.”

His movement, creativity and goal output are up there with some of the best in Europe right now, and he has shown that he is able to compete against even the best players in the game.

So it is a shame to see that Van Der Beek does not want to leave the Dutch Champions half way through the season, but it doesn’t mean that UNITED cant pull a deal together for the end of the season.
