Man United closing in first major summer signing of the summer – officials fly in to conclude deal
Man United are closing in on their first major signing of the summer with Antony reportedly on his way from Ajax in a £40million move.
It is no secret that Man United are just one of a number of clubs that are very interested in trying to secure the services of the talented young man, and have been olanning a massive summer offer
Erik Ten Hag brought Antony to Ajax in 2020 and the forward, 22, has racked up 22 goals and 20 assists in his 79 appearances as well as two Eredivisie titles – developing into one of the best wingers in Europe right now
Now – According to SunSport’s Neil Custis, United officials are due in Amsterdam today to get a deal for the Brazil international over the line.
The 22-year-old is also full of admiration for his former manager Ten Hag who himself made the move from Ajax to United to ignite a revival of the fallen giant
In a farewell video message for the departing boss, Antony – who is reportedly keen to test himself in England – said: “I want to wish you all the best at your new club.
“I also want to thank you for everything you taught me.
“I am thankful all the opportunities and learning every day.
“Know that I will always stand with you if you need me.”

The lad has a very big future in the game and is making all the right noises, but to become world class, he needs to make the right career choices.
And right now, Man United could be a very good option for him to make -especially as he would be working under a manager that has turned him into the player that he is right now
He is skilful – quick – has an eye for goal and an air of confidence that fans would love to see
For the right amount of money – we would love to see him in the Premier League – as we said – he is making all the right noises in the game
