Man United closer to £51M signing – Midfielder confirms summer move – United can sign powerhouse for £40M

Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –

Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek has announced that he will be leaving Manchester United after an “unforgettable” four-year spell

Van de Beek joined Manchester United from Ajax in September 2020 after establishing himself as one of the best creative players in the Dutch League – with many of the big clubs keen.

However, Van de Beek struggled to secure a regular spot in Manchester United starting lineup and really become a real flop at the club – despite many wondering why such a brilliant talent could not make the impact that many had hoped for.

Loan spells have followed over the past few seasons – but now the player has confirmed that he will be leaving the club – Van de Beek shared an emotional farewell message on Instagram.

“Dear Manchester United family, today marks the end of my journey with the club,” he wrote.

“I want to thank you all for your support throughout the years. From the moment we arrived, we felt extremely welcome, and we are grateful for that. A special thanks to all the fans who made these years unforgettable. Besides football, the birth of our two children here ensures that Manchester will always have a special place in our hearts. Good luck to everybody, we’ll meet again.”

Van de Beek is now all set to join Girona in La Liga for an initial fee of €500,000

Van De Beek should have been a brilliant signing for Manchester United – but it simply never worked out and fans will be left wondering what happened. But they will wish him all the best and will quickly move on.

IVAN TONEY FOR £40M

Brentford would reportedly be willing to come down on their £60million asking price for Ivan Toney with Manchester United linked.

There was alot of speculation in the January window that Ivan Toney was a player that Erik Ten Hag wanted to be signed for Manchester United as he wanted to add some more goals to his struggling attack.

However – despite all the speculation and all the rumours – the Financial Fair Plays rules keeping all the Premier League clubs on their toes – there was not too much business this January transfer window, which frustrated alot of fans.

Toney is a player that has been linked with a move away from Brentford all season – despite the fact that he has only just returned from time away from the game – but it seems that there will be a chance to get a deal done in the summer after Brentford reportedly decided they will cash in on the big man.

The Athletic have claimed that the Bees would be willing to accept a bid worth £40m for the striker.

Amid all the speculation reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that he could be a perfect addition to that United side.

Hesaid: “You know he’s going to score on a regular, he lives for the headlines. He’s got an unerring confidence and unwavering confidence that most footballers have, but his is more like steely determination mixed with arrogance.

‘ He’ll only get bigger, better and stronger in the coming seasons now that he is back to playing football and making an impact for Brentford

‘They are in in dire need of adding a striker to that attack like Ivan Toney – they are missing that game-winning striker that can score goals on a weekly basis.

‘Toney suits the style of Manchester United – and if he moves there – he will score goals.’

UGARTE DEAL CLOSER –

Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly moving closer to an agreement over the transfer of Manuel Ugarte.

Ugarte, 23, joined the French club from Sporting last summer after spending the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Portugal. He moved to Europe from South America as a teenager, months after debuting for the senior Uruguay side

While he was a first-team regular during the first-half of the season under Luis Enrique, he lost his place in the side in the second-half of the season.

PSG are eager to recoup the £51m they spent on the 23-year-old with Fabrizio Romano recently reporting that a number of clubs are very much interested in trying to get a bargain transfer deal done this summer.

According to recent reports on Fichajes, Manuel Ugarte would be open to the idea of joining Manchester United this summer window after the French giants offered him to a number of clubs in order to get their money back.

Discussions are progressing positively, according to Foot Mercato, but not all details have been completed.

If Manchester United really wanted to sign the player this summer – if they believed Ugarte would add to the side – then we are sure that the board would get a transfer deal done.

But despite the reports that he has been offered to many clubs – it looks like the player would like to make the move to Manchester and join United – they are seemingly leading the chase for the player.

But anything can happen in football and if the the right club offers a bigger amount of money – then United will miss out. So if they really wants the midfielder – then they need to hurry up and try to get a transfer deal done, rather than waiting around.
