Man United contacted and OFFERED German star: Bundesliga giants ready to sell

Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign RB Leipzig left-back David Raum as Michael Carrick continues to assess options for the position ahead of the transfer deadline.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Raum is among the players who have been made available to United as the club searches for further competition at left-back. The 28-year-old Germany international has entered the final year of his contract at Leipzig, potentially creating an opportunity for the Bundesliga club to secure a transfer fee rather than risk losing him for nothing.

Manchester United remain keen to strengthen at left-back this summer, with Luke Shaw currently the principal senior option in the position. Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall had been regarded as a leading target, but the Magpies’ reluctance to sell has encouraged the Premier League club to consider alternatives.

Raum has subsequently emerged as one of those options. The Leipzig captain has established himself as an important player for the German side since joining from Hoffenheim in 2022 and has also become a regular for the Germany national team. His attacking output from left-back is regarded as one of his principal strengths.

Recent reports have suggested Raum could be available for a fee in the region of £30 million, although other claims have put his release clause at around £34 million. With his contract situation unresolved, Leipzig could face a decision over whether to sell now or retain the player and potentially lose him without a transfer fee next summer.

Raum is not the only left-back understood to have been presented to United. Racing Santander teenager Jorge Salinas has also reportedly been offered to the club as part of their search for defensive reinforcements.

Salinas, 19, is viewed as a longer-term option and is understood to have a release clause of around €16 million. He impressed as Racing Santander secured promotion to Spain’s top flight last season and has attracted interest from clubs looking for an emerging full-back.

Manchester United‘s interest in both players comes as they continue to work through a shortlist of potential left-back targets. Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde and Fulham’s Antonee Robinson have also been mentioned as possibilities, while Hall remains a difficult target because Newcastle are determined to keep him.

The club are expected to make a decision on their preferred option after progressing with the signing of Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba
