Manchester close in on mega deal as superstar target Coutinho ‘asks to leave Barcelona’
Long-term Manchester United target Philippe Coutinho has asked Barcelona to leave this summer, according to Cadena SER.
It is no secret in the media that United are desperate to splash some cash over the next few months and try to land some superstar names in order to get back in the Champions League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to be handed a massive £200 million to spend over the next few months, with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Gareth Bale and Coutinho on the shopping list.
The Brazilian has not made the impact that many expected since his move from Liverpool, and reports in the Spanish press have claimed that he could be sold at the end of the season, especially after the Champions League semi-final loss to the Reds.
European Football expert Julian Laurens recently told United that Coutinho is heading back to the Premier League, as PSG will not be able to afford him.
“How? With what money?” he said on ESPN FC.
“There’s no room anywhere in the wage bill for Coutinho, as a transfer fee for Coutinho.
“It’s not even a position that is there priority.
“So for me it’s, and from what I’ve heard from the club, there’s nothing in that story at all.”
Now Cadena Ser have claimed that he has now asked to leave the club as he wants to reignite his career.
Coutinho may not be having the best of seasons at Barcelona, but that could be a good thing for the Premier league giants as the Spaniards will surely be open to letting the Brazilian leave the club for a bargain fee.
They paid Liverpool £142 million to secure a deal, but could be willing to let him leave for a smaller fee, with may reports suggesting less than £80 million could be the price to pay
He is world class and could help United get back to the very top of the game, especially as he would bring in 20-plus goals a season either created or scored himself.
