£54 million answer given to Ole! Father in-law sends Manchester United message about Juventus deal
The father in-law of Manchester United target Matthijs De Ligt has been talking about a possible Juventus exit.
United are a side that need to add some quality to the back-line in the coming windows if they are to sort out their defensive issues, as the current crop is not good enough to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for that Premier League title.
That means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will need to get the financial backing from the board over the next couple of transfer windows and add a defender or two that will make an instant impact on the side, and be the perfect partner for the towering united of Harry Maguire, with De Ligt on the list.
THE RED DEVILS registered a strong interest in De Ligt last summer before his agent, Mino Raiola, struck a deal with Juventus that saw him make the mega money move to Seria A, meaning Solskjaer missed out on one of his top summer transfer targets.
However, It’s been suggested that United could be on alert over a possible deal this coming transfer window as De Ligt has not had the best of seasons in Turin, and could seek a move away, with reports even claiming United could even demand De Ligt plus cash in exchange for Paul Pogba, whom Juventus reportedly want.
However, Molenaar – who also represented Ajax and the Netherlands national team – has played down the speculation and insists his daughter, Annekee, and De Ligt are ‘really enjoying themselves’ in Turin.
‘These are simple rumours, that’s all, there’s nothing more to say about it,’ Molenaar told Tutto Juve.
‘Matthijs doesn’t regret having chosen Juve at all. ‘He and Annekee are really enjoying themselves in Turin and maybe they can spend some more time in Italy.’
