Juventus superstar Dybala claim to Manchester United made by legend
Juventus star Paulo Dybala didn’t join Manchester United because he lacked ‘the minerals’ to play for the club, according to Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand.
There was a lot of transfer speculation in the media about whom would be arriving at United during the summer transfer window, and Dybala was a name that was mentioned on a regular basis as he was tipped to leave Juventus.
It is believed that Dybala was set to fall down the pecking order at Juventus now that Maurizio Sarri has arrived at the club, and the Argentine superstar was seeking a way out of the club, with the Premier League reportedly showing a big interest in a deal.
But despite the many reports suggesting that United have held talks, have agreed personal terms etc, Dybala failed to make the move to England and United, with reports Dybala actually turned down a move to old Trafford,
And former United star Ferdinand has admitted that he cannot believe that Dybala had the audacity to turn down such a great move, especially when he just sits on the bench at Turin, telling the Daily Star website: “A lot of players have declined coming to Man Utd in recent years. They’ve chosen somewhere else.
“But I don’t know how Dybala had the audacity to turn them down when he’s on the bench at Juventus. He needs to start playing some football.
“Maybe he’s thinking: ‘I want to be Champions League or I’ll sit on the bench. I’d rather do that than play at Man Utd.’
“Well, I’m happy he didn’t come, then because you haven’t got the right minerals that I want in a Man Utd player!”
Dybala is one of the worlds very best attackers and it is strange to see that he is now keeping the bench warm at Juventus since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, so making that move to United would have been the best thing for his career.
United are one of the biggest clubs in the game and many players feel honoured to wear that Red Devils shirt, but maybe the time wasn’t right for Dybala and maybe he feels that he can have a fresh start under Sarri?
But whatever his reasons for turning down United, at the end of the day, he could have been a fantastic signing for the club if United managed to complete a transfer deal.
