Judge touches down in Spain! Man United Negotiator in talks to finalise deal for Liverpool target Mina
Manchester United are reportedly now in talks to sign Liverpool target and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina for £35 million.
The 23-year-old joined Barcelona from Brazilian side Palmeiras in the January transfer window, but he has failed to make any real impact at the club and made just six appearances for the Spanish giants in the second half of last season.
But after his performance against England in the knockout stages of the World Cup, in which he scored the equalising in the dying minutes to take the game to extra time and then penalties, he has caught the attentions of Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp is keen to add a partner for giant Dutchman Virgil Van Dijk and has been linked with a number of transfer targets, including Mina.
But according to reports, United have now entered the chase for the colossal defender, as Jose Mourinho also seeks to bolster his squad during this summer’s transfer window.
And according to the Metro website, United transfer negotiator Matt Judge has touched down in Spain to iron out a £35million move for Mina, according to reports.
The Special one is not convinced Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones have what it takes to help the club win some silverware next season and would love to add a partner for Eric Bailly.
Mina admitted that he was unhappy at Barcelona last season and was keen to leave in order to secure more playing time.
‘There were very difficult moments that were very sad for me because I was really not doing well,’ the defender said after Colombia’s World Cup campaign.
‘There were moments when I thought everything was going to turn out as I had imagined, but it wasn’t like that.
‘I felt moments everything came crashing down upon me, I felt that nothing was going right, I couldn’t even pass the ball right, or train, I just felt like nothing went right.
‘I want to play for a team where there is less pressure and where I can have minutes.’
