Fred and out? £52 million man announces frustration as Manchester United exit looms
Brazilian midfielder Fred has announced his frustration at Manchester United, and could depart the club.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder arrived at Old Trafford during the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho’s only big buy of the transfer window, and was supposed to be the idea man to get the best out of Paul Pogba
But the 25-year-old has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford following a £52m move from Donetsk to the Premier League over the summer, and he has admitted his frustration under the special one.
“I’ve played very little at United, so it’s normal for Professor Tite not to be able to evaluate me, even though I’ve worked hard with him before,” Fred told the Sunday Mirror.
“Of course, I was annoyed, but I have to know how to deal with the sadness to be able to help me take a step forward.”
Fred has been linked with a move to Serie A and La Liga over the last few weeks and could decide to make the switch away if he fails to break back into the starting line-up at Old Trafford.
Could Fred really leave United?
Fred has all the attributes to be the perfect holding midfielder for United and Mourinho, but the special one is doing what he always does when a new player is brought in that he never really wanted, is not giving them a real shot in the side.
So if the right offer comes along and Fred fails to be convinced to stay, then many will understand if he does pack his bags and exit Old Trafford in the coming windows.
