Legend Ryan Giggs has Bruno Fernandes message for Manchester United board
Ryan Giggs once labelled Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes a “liability” – but says he has improved the club’s players since his £55million arrival in January.
Fernandes has galvanised the Red Devils since his £67million move at Manchester United from Sporting in January, helping them to an 11-match unbeaten run, scoring twice and providing three assists in just six appearances.
His performances for the club has got a good feeling around Old Trafford once again, and there are many out there that firmly believe he can help the Red Devils get back into the habit of challenging for titles, and winning the biggest trophies on offer.
But Manchester United United and Wales legend Giggs has praised the club’s transfer gurus for bringing in the Portuguese wizard, as he has brought some much needed quality to the United squad.
Giggs told the latest MUTV Group Chat: “It was a shame we had to pause the season because we were flying.
“Ole started his management with United flying, then had a tough spell, and then we were on a good run. But the players he’s got in have been really impressive.
“They’ve improved the team and the dressing room and obviously, in Fernandes, we’ve seen over the years the effect one player can sometimes have.
“You talk about the Cantonas, the van Persies – and I’m not comparing him yet to them, but he’s made other players play better and he’s given everyone a lift.”
Fernandes is a world class players and United made the right decision to make sure that they completed this transfer deal.
He has been worth the wait and worth the £55 million that Manchester United paid for him during the January transfer window, the club just need to make sure that they go out in the transfer window and add a few more players at the quality of Fernandes.
