80,000-a-week winger makes statement and sends big Man United transfer hint!

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has indicated that he will not extend his stay at Getafe.

Greenwood impressed during his loan spell in Spain, scoring ten times and providing five assists in for the Spanish side as he looked to reignite his career.

He has not played for Manchester United since his arrest in January 2022 for attempted rape, controlling behaviour and assaultAll charges were dropped in February last year.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not ruled out the possibility of Greenwood returning to the club but there has been alot of rumours about where he could end up once his loan deal is finished with Getafe.

Getafe had made it clear that they were open to keeping Greenwood on loan for another season, and remain optimistic regarding their chances of retaining a player that has been billed as “The King” at Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Club president Angel Torres has told Movistar when asked for an update on Greenwood: “We depend on Manchester. The idea is for him to stay.”

But the 22-year-old appears to have ruled that move out – In a message on Instagram on Sunday evening, Greenwood wrote: ‘Incredibly grateful to the Getafe family and fans for an amazing season.

‘Thank you for making me feel welcomed and one of your own. I enjoyed every second, alongside my teammates and club.

‘A bitter sweet ending, but it was a pleasure to play for you, I wish you all the best.’

Should he move on, a number of clubs are interested in sealing a deal for his services. Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are chasing him, while Borussia Dortmund recently joined the race for the 22-year-old’s signature.
