£87 million German Havertz told to ‘baulk up’ ahead of possible Manchester United move
Dimitar Berbatov has urged Manchester United target Kai Havertz to snub the Premier League for now — and bulk up.
The season may be stopped and there may be time between now and the summer to discuss possible targets for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but that has not stopped all the speculation linking the club with a £100 million move for Bundesliga sensation Havertz.
Havertz has become one of the most sought after players in the game, as he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in all competition this season, meaning that this will be his most productive campaign to date.
United know that they need to improve in key areas of the pitch if they are to challenge for that Premier League title again in the coming years, and have been linked with a move for Havertz for some time now.
He enhanced his growing reputation with two goals in Monday’s 4-1 win over Werder Bremen, But ex-United striker Berbatov, who left Leverkusen to join Spurs in 2006, believes Havertz is not yet tough enough to leave his native Germany.
Berbatov, 39, said on the Metro: “I’d like to see Havertz in the Premier League but it is a bit too early for him.
“He will need a bit more muscle. We all know how defenders can squash you and smash you into pieces.
“He should stay at Leverkusen and develop even more, get that experience which will help him for when the time comes to go somewhere else.”
Wow, this will put alot of clubs on full alert as Havertz is a brilliantly gifted young player that will eventually become one of the best players in the world, so if there is a chance to sign him up, United need to make this move.
However, he is still very young and many believe that if he moves too soon, it may scupper the future that he has in the game, so if offers do arrive in the summer, he will have a big decision to make on his future.
