Sorry Liverpool! Man United ‘open talks’ to sign exciting £25 million Dutchman Bergwijn
Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Liverpool target Steven Bergwijn, about a possible move away from PSV Eindhoven.
The highly-rated 21-year old has started the season in terrific form for the Dutch giants and already has nine goals and nine assists to his name, with his performances catching the eye of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
It is no secret the Reds boss is keen to add something to his attack this transfer window, and recent reports suggested he was eyeing up a £25 million deal to land Bergwijn towards the end of the transfer window.
However, according to the Sunday Express, United look set to win the race for the Dutchman and have contacted PSV to discuss a deal in excess of £25 million, as Oole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add to his exciting attack.
Solskjaer has enjoyed a great start to life as United boss and won his opening eight games, but he knows an injury to one of his attackers could be a serious problem in their quest to get back into a top four spot this season.
Would the talented Duthcman be a good signing for United?
Bergwijn has all the talent and ability to make a real impression on the United side, especially under a boss like Solskjaer, who prefers to give youngsters a chance to prove themselves at the highest level.
And if reports are true and they are ready to pay the £25 million to secure a deal, United will be hoping that the talented Dutchman does not turn out to be another Memphis Depay, who arrived with a big reputation but left as a major flop.
Bergwijn has the numbers to impress this season, but the Premier League is a big step up and he would have alot to prove signing for a club like Manchester United.
