Former Spurs star Jenas rips into Jose! Mourinho ‘sucking life’ out of Manchester United

Former Tottenham star Jermaine Jenas has claimed Jose Mourinho is sucking the life out of Manchester United.

United have started the new season in terrible form and are already out of the race to win the Premier league title, as they are simply too far behind current leaders Manchester City.

And now they are falling even further behind in the chase to get into a top four spot after another disappointing display at the weekend saw them draw 2-2 with a unimpressive Southampton side.

Now Jenas has slammed the special one and accused him of ‘making brilliant players mediocre’, telling the Daily Mail: “Who is consistently playing well for United? Nobody.

“What’s really damning is Mourinho has a squad with proven world-class stars. Paul Pogba is an astonishing talent who won the World Cup a few months ago.

“Romelu Lukaku is a striker with record-breaking abilities who has shone for clubs and country.

“Alexis Sanchez, who is injured, is capable of so much more than he’s shown in a Manchester United shirt.

“Matic is a serial winner, even in the Premier League. Until he moved to Old Trafford. Rashford can shine for England and then underwhelm for his club.

“And on we could go. That’s before we get to players like Fred, a £52m player who can’t get a game. Why is that? A bad buy? Or another footballer who arrived at Manchester United and started to diminish?

“It’s not unusual for a player or two to dip in and out of form, at any club. But to have so many top players not in form at the same time, and for so long — that is on Mourinho the manager.”

Is it time for United to drop Mourinho?

Mourinho has been one of the best coaches in world football and is one of the greatest ever to grace the game, but right now his tactics and man management skills are outdated, he is seriously struggling at United.

It is getting very close to that time that United need to make a serious decision as the players are starting to lose faith in his ability and will eventually not put in the effort. So even though there aren’t too many managers out there that could replace the special one, a few more poor results and he is heading for the exit signs.
