Manchester United have joined Arsenal in chase to land ex-Spurs star in coming window
Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal in the transfer chase for Christian Eriksen, according to reports.
After establishing himself as one of the most creative midfielders in the Premier League, Eriksen made the transfer move to Milan in hope of becoming that world class player he had ambitions to be.
However, since his move to Milan, he has not become the calming playmaker that the Italian giants had hoped he could be, and has struggled to get into Antonio Conte’s starting line-up, which has led to all sorts of speculation in the coming days.
And that has led to some shock reports in the media which have claimed that Arsenal have shown an interest in trying to sign the midfielder, and are even open to the idea of swapping Granit Xhaka in the coming window.
Now, According to Corriere Dello Sport via Football Italia, United have now entered the chase to try and get the player all signed up, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still a fan of the man that he wanted to sign before that move to Milan was made.
Eriksen recently admitted things have not gone to plan in Milan and that he could look to move on in January
“This isn’t what I dreamed of,” Eriksen told TV2. “All players want to play as much as possible, but the coach decides who gets to go on the pitch.
“It is a strange situation, as the fans want to see me playing more and so would I, but the coach has different ideas and as a player I have to respect that.”
“I am concentrating on my football, then when the transfer window opens we will see if something will happen or not,”
It was a massive decision from Eriksen to leave Tottenham, especially because he believed that he would win trophies elsewhere, so it just shows that the grass is not greener on the other side.
But would he be the right kind of fit to United?
