De Laurentiis has told the likes of Manchester United Koulibaly will be sold for £81 million this summer
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted Manchester United transfer target Kalidou Koulibaly may be sold – but only for £81million.
United have been in the headlines alot over the past few months as they seek to build a side that is capable of challenging for all the major trophies next season, and adding a new defender is on the agenda for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Despite all the attacking flair that United have, they have one of the worst defences in the premier League and will need to address that with a world class signing in the coming weeks, with Koulibaly on the list.
Regarded as one of the finest defenders in the game right now, Koulibaly has been heavily linked with some of the biggest clubs for months, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool all linked with a possible deal.
Now it seems that the Italians are ready toc ash in on the powerhouse after De Laurentiis has admitted Koulibaly may be sold – but only for £81million.
De Laurentiis told Sky Italia: “Kalidou is a wonderful person and of course it’d be sad to lose him.
“Everything has a time and a place, even when it comes to going our separate ways.
“‘Having said that, we don’t have €90m (£81m) on the table and in any case, it takes two to separate.”
Look, there is no doubt that United need to add a world class defender to that back-line and rather than spending £100 million on Jadon Sancho, they should definitely spend £81 million on Koulibaly.
He is just the type of player that will develop this United defence and make them more solid ahead of a Premier League and Champions League title push next season.’
