Manchester United ready to raid Real Madrid for superstar £66 million man Kroos
Fresh reports have claimed that Manchester United could make a £66 million move for Real Madrid star Toni Kroos in the January window.
Regarded as one of the finest passes of the ball in world football, Kroos has been part of the Madrid side that has won three Champions League titles on the spin and was part of the German side that won the World Cup just four years ago.
However, he did not look like a very happy man last season and there was constant speculation in the media that he was ready to leave the Bernabeu in search of a fresh challenge, with reports Madrid wanted around £700 million for the German.
And according to reports on the BILD website, with the club looking to overhaul an ageing squad, there is a feeling that the Spaniards are ready to cash in and let him leave for the right price, especially after he reportedly informed the club that he wants to leave.
If Kroos has decided that he wants to leave Madrid in January, there will be no shortage of suitors for his signature as he is still one of the best passers in the ball that Europe has to offer.
United already have a number of top-class midfielders at the clubs and do not need to spend anymore money in that department, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to delve into the transfer kitty and land a couple of world class defenders, rather than buy another midfielder.
Yes Kroos is world class and both clubs would be lucky to have him, but at the end of the day, United a have options in midfield, and they need to work on other areas of the pitch or e will have the same problems he has had this season.
Kroos is not the right man to be signed during the January transfer window, and it would be a massive surprise to see him make the move to Old Trafford, especially for the £66 million that Madrid would be seeking for his services.
But anything can happen in football and he may just end of at one of the two.
