‘Two magical players’ on way to Manchester United? as Mourinho told to sign big players
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has urged Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho to splash out and sign ‘two magical players’ this summer transfer window.
Despite finishing in their highest Premier League position since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho will see his side end the season without a trophy after Chelsea walked away from Wembley with a 1-0 victory.
And the Special one, who has been more than backed by the board in the transfer windows, is widely to do some big transfer deals in the next few weeks and bring in a few players to the squad.
And Scholes has told Mourinho he needs a couple of players in the mould of Eden Hazard, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
He was quoted on the Metro website: ‘They need a big player, [Paul] Pogba does not win you games on your own, [Alexis] Sanchez doesn’t… Hazard does.
‘They thought Sanchez could but he hasn’t. They have to improve. They need that magical player, two magical players.
‘They’ve got really good players but they haven’t got a Hazard, a [Lionel] Messi, a [Cristiano] Ronaldo. The difference today was Hazard.
‘Manchester United just don’t have that. Having said that, I don’t think they’re too far away.’
Scholes if right and United need a couple of world class signings, as the squad is lacking quality in key areas of the pitch.
But with the transfer window now open and the worlds biggest teams ready to splash out this summer, Mourinho may find it more difficult to acquire the players he needs to take the side to that next step.
