Man United moves sign Belgian star: told £30M will get deal done!
Manchester United have reportedly enquired about the availability of Club Brugge full-back Joaquin Seys as competition for the highly rated Belgium international intensifies.
According to The Sun, United are among several Premier League clubs to have made contact over the 21-year-old, with Arsenal and Aston Villa also said to have expressed an interest following extensive scouting.
Seys has emerged as one of Club Brugge’s most promising young players and has attracted growing attention from clubs across Europe. Newcastle United, Benfica and Porto are also understood to be monitoring the defender, although Premier League interest could give United, Arsenal and Villa an advantage in any potential negotiations.
Club Brugge are reportedly in no rush to sell Seys, who has several years remaining on his contract. The Belgian club are understood to value the player at around €35 million (£30m), meaning any interested side would likely have to make a substantial investment to secure his services this summer.
The valuation comes after Club Brugge have already completed significant sales during the transfer window. Christos Tzolis has reportedly moved to Arsenal for a comparable fee, while Aleksandar Stankovic has joined Inter for close to £20m, strengthening Brugge’s negotiating position and reducing any pressure to cash in on Seys.
For Manchester United, the interest reflects the club’s desire to strengthen at full-back and add a long-term option to their defensive ranks. Seys is primarily a left-back but has also demonstrated his versatility by operating on the opposite flank, potentially making him an attractive option for a squad requiring greater depth.
The youngster has also made progress at international level with Belgium, adding to his growing reputation. His performances for Club Brugge last season reportedly included five goals and eight assists in all competitions, helping him earn a place in Belgium’s World Cup squad.
Arsenal’s interest could provide an intriguing complication for Manchester United, particularly given the clubs’ recent dealings with Club Brugge. The Gunners have already completed the signing of Tzolis, while their continued scouting of Seys suggests the Belgian side could once again be negotiating with an English heavyweight.
Villa are also believed to be monitoring the situation closely, with their interest reportedly driven by Seys’ technical and physical qualities
