Pogba has Man United transfer message, £100m star announces ‘i give my life’ for United, Mourinho has Man United message over summer signing
Here is a roundup of the latest Manchester United news from icfootballnews.
Paul Pogba says there is a “big question mark” over his future, but maintains he will continue to “give everything” for Manchester United.
Once regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the game, United broke their club record in order to acquire the services of Pogba from Juventus just a few seasons ago in hope that he would help transform this side back into a title winning side.
And despite some impressive performances in a Red Devils shirt, he has not looked like the same man that once helped Juventus dominate the Seria A. Which has angered many associated with United and led to a lot of speculation that he could actually leave the club over the summer window.
United turned down an offer from Real Madrid of £27.6m plus James Rodriguez and Pogba did not secure a departure before the Premier League’s August 8 transfer deadline.
However, transfer windows across Europe remain open, and Pogba has admitted that he will give everything for United while his future is still being sorted out.
He told RMC Sport: “I am always good when I play football. I am doing what I love, it’s my job. I will give the maximum every time I will be on the pitch.
“Now, we know there have been things said. Time will tell. We remain still on this big question mark. I am at Manchester. I am having fun with my team-mates. I want to always win the matches. I will always give everything when I am on the pitch.”
Marcus Rashford has admitted that he gives his life for Manchester United everytime he puts on that Red Devils shirt.
Despite his tender age, this will be Rashford’s fifth season in the United first-team squad after breaking through as an exciting teenager and he has firmly become one of the most loved players at Old Trafford.
It has been a busy summer for Marcus, after signing a new long-term contract with his lifelong club and featuring in all six of the pre-season fixtures, he began the season in fine fashion with a couple of goals against Chelsea.
And after the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan, he could be given a real chance to lead the United attack and finally become the main man at Old Trafford, and he has admitted that he looks to give his life for the club.
“I think it’s a very exciting moment,” says Rashford on the MUFC website.
“For me it was just about getting the new contract out of the way and solidifying that I’m here for the club. It’s about getting the club back to where it belongs, what everybody knows Manchester United are.
“I give my life for the club and that’s the most important thing. For me, when you’re in a squad with a lot of young players who share the same ambition and have the same drive, I can only see us succeeding.
“It might take us some time, but if we all stick to the game plan, work collectively as a team, and we’ve got a good manager who knows the club and who shares the same ambition, who knows what we can achieve?
“It’s not just me,” continues Marcus. “There’s a group of young players together and we can start to become what we decide to become. That’s an important thing to me: that we can start to help the younger ones coming through. It’s all part and parcel of growing up in a United shirt. It’s just the next step.”
Jose Mourinho has hailed Harry Maguire for his ‘rock solid’ performance in the 4-0 thrashing of Chelsea on the opening weekend of the new Premier League season.
After months of speculation and talk about Maguire, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer finally got his man towards the back-end of the transfer window in a deal that has smashed the transfer record for a defender, as United paid £80 million for the Englishman.
Many have doubted whether or not Maguire was worth such a big amount and many believe that he will not actually improve the back-line, but Maguire made more interceptions, tackles and blocks than any other player on the pitch and Mourinho believes his presence could be a regular game-changer for his team-mates.
He said: “You can be very dangerous in attack but if you feel that a mistake is around the corner it takes your confidence away and you don’t play as well. When you feel there is something that allows you to play you are much more confident.
“As I always said Lindelof can be a very good player. With Maguire it can be a very good partnership.”
Rio Ferdinand ‘would have loved Manchester United to sign Bruno Fernandes this summer transfer window.
United were linked with a whole bunch of players this transfer window as many fans wanted to see some big-time players arrive to help the club get back to the very top of the game. But despite all the transfer speculation, United only saw three new faces arrive.
Defender Harry Maguire was signed from Leicester, Daniel James was brought in to add some pace on the wings and Aaron Wan-Bassika was acquired to fill the void which has been left by long-time servant Antonio Valencia, in a quite disappointing window for United.
But one player that was linked with a move to Old Trafford was that of Fernandes, the Portuguese midfielder that attracted all sorts of interest from Europes top clubs after scoring and assisting over fifty goals last season.
It was believed that United were prepared to pay the £70 million it would have taken to bring him to the Premier League this summer, and despite having the money to complete a transfer deal, the Reds could simply not get the deal done by August 8th and they have missed out on the attacker.
But after seeking Fernandes in his performances, Ferdinand has admitted that he would have loved to see the goal-scorer make the big money move to England, telling the Daily Express website: “I love the fact that [Solskjaer] invested his belief on [Marcus] Rashford and [Anthony] Martial by getting rid of [Romelu] Lukaku.
“I was surprised he didn’t go into the midfielder area. I would have loved the idea of Bruno Fernandes.
“He must be looking to rekindle Paul Pogba’s form.
“They need to have a performance against Chelsea that shows they are on the right track.”
