£32 million Roma star Manolas all set to sign for Manchester United?
Fresh reports have claimed Roma defender Kostas Manolas could be all set to sign for Manchester United this January.
United have constantly been in the headlines this season for their poor defensive showings, which cost Jose Mourinho his job at Old Trafford, and there is widespread speculation that United would devle into their transfer kitty and land a defender or two in the January window.
And according to reports emergeing for Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport, United chiefs are ready to prise the Greek away from Roma by activating his £32million release clause with the Italian side are already looking to replace their centre-back.
Manolas has been impressive in the heart of Roma’s defence since his move to the Italian capital in 2014, but would like the opportunity to play for one of the biggest clubs in football, recently stating “it’s only natural you want to play for the biggest clubs.”
United have also been linked with a big money move for Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly over the past few months, but the Italians have stuck a massive £108 million price tag on the defenders head, which has reportedly put United off any deal this month.
Would Manolas be a good buy for United?
Manolas haqs been very impressive during his time at Roma and he has the experience and quality to be a top-class player at United if reports are true and he makes his way to Old Trafford.
And for £32 million, he could be a much better buy that the £108 million Kouliably, despite the fact the Napoli star is regarded a sone of the best defenders in the game.
