Manchester United ‘have told Juventus’ they will pay £100 million release clause to sign World Class star Dybala
Manchester United have told Juventus they are willing to trigger Paulo Dybala’s release clause.
United tried and failed to secure Champions League football after a torrid start under former boss Jose Mourinho, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his side put in some poor performances towards the back-end of the season, meaning it will be another season in the Europa league.
But there is a big feeling in the media that United will look to offload a number of stars in order to revamp the side, with Alexis Sanchez just one name that has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford after failing to reach the levels he endured at Arsenal.
There has been so many players linked over the past few months that United fans have forgotten who could arrive at the end of the season, but one name that has been mentioned as a possible signing is that of Dybala, the Juventus superstar.
Dybala has netted the second-most goals for the Turin club this season, striking 10 times in all competitions as well as chipping in with four assists, but is reportedly unhappy at playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo, who arrived from Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry confirmed Argentina forward Dybala is still on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s shortlist.
“Dybala’s still on United’s shortlist, that’s for sure,” McGarry claimed.
“It was held up in terms of the deal because what we reported was that United had indicated to Juventus that they were willing to meet the buy-out clause of Dybala.
“That was before of course Allegri’s future was decided and in between, Dybala himself said he didn’t want to make any rash decisions based on now knowing who the incoming coach would be.
“Now obviously that’s been cleared up. But the Copa America is now getting in the way of that particular negotiation.”
United will surely hand Solskjaer some big transfer kitty to play with as this current Red Devils side needs a lot of work and money spent on the squad, but they need to buy quality over quantity if they want to get back challenging the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for that Premier League title.
Dybala is an absolute superstar in Seria A and is a massive name in the game, so the news that he now wants to stay at Juventus will be a huge blow for the Red Devils.
