£25 million rated PSG star Meunier sends summer transfer message to chasing Manchester United
PSG star Thomas Meunier has admitted that he wants to sign a new deal with the French Champions and stay put this transfer window, with Manchester United keen on a transfer deal.
With United looking to revamp the side in the coming transfer window and acquire some players that will help the side get back into winning the Premier League, there has been a lot of speculation about whom the Red Devils could try and acquire.
And one name that has been linked with a possible move to Old Trafford is that of Meunier, who was seen as a great alternative to Aaron Wan-Bassika if United were unable to complete a transfer deal for the young defender.
The Belgian is in the final year of his contract and has been out of favour at the Ligue 1 champions this term, and recent reports claimed that United made contact before they completed a £55 million deal for Bassika..
But he has now come out and admitted that he has no intention of leaving the club and will seek to sign a new long-term contract with the French Giants.
“The club knows my intentions. I want to stay in Paris,” Meunier told France Football
”The executives know I am open to spending my fourth season here and to signing a new contract. It will be their decision – everything is in their hand
The Belgian star has found game time hard to come by at PSG and that is why they are ready to cash in if clubs meet the £25 million valuation, so all indications suggested that a move to the premier League would have been the best thing for his career.
A move to United would have been a great move for the defender, as they are still in need of adding some much needed depth to the squad over this transfer window, so the news he now wants to stay will come as a disappointment, especially as he looked set to leave France
