Signed, sealed and delighted as striker Rashford excited after signing massive £200,000-a-week Man United deal

Manchester United have officially confirmed striker Marcus Rashford has ended speculation about his future and signed a new long-term contract to stay with the club.

Rashford is one of the most exciting and gifted players in the game right now and has become a real hero at Old Trafford, despite his tender years.

Rashford’s contract expired next June and Old Trafford white-collars were keen to pin down the academy graduate on a new long-term deal, especially with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid reportedly linked with a move.

It has been suggested United may need to pay the England international north of £300,000 a week to retain his services, which is far more than the £100,000-a-week that was being talked about in the media.

But after months of negotiations, United have confirmed that Rashford has indeed signed a new contract with the club that will see him earn a massive £200,000-a-week over the next four years.

Rashford said on the MUFC website: “Manchester United has been everything in my life since I arrived here at the age of seven. This club has shaped me, both as a player and as a person, so it is such a privilege every time I get the opportunity to wear the shirt.

“I want to thank Ole and his staff for everything they have done for me; they are the perfect group of coaches to learn from as I continue my development and look to push on to the next level.

“I will be giving everything I have to help get this club back to where it belongs and deliver the success that our fans deserve.”

Rashford is a brilliantly gifted young players and a real superstar in the making, so handing him a massive contract to keep hold is the smart thing to do from United.

But with all the money that is in football right now, it is obvious that the young man was going to ask for a type of wage like Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, especially as he has become a key member of the squad.
