Manchester United ready to meet £45m valuation and land in-demand Militao

Reports have claimed Manchester United have entered the race with Chelsea to sign Porto centre-back Eder Militao.

With Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri desperate to splash the cash and bring in a few top-level defenders in the January window, reports earlier this week claimed Sarri has shortlisted Militao as a cheaper alternative to Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.

It has been claimed Chelsea have made a whopping £94 million move to try and secure a deal for the 27-year old Napoli star, but have already been knocked back by the Italians as they want over £100 million for the in-demand star.

But now reports on the Sun website have claimed Chelsea are set to face competition from United for the signature of Militao, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also seeking to revamp the squad and bolster his back-line in the coming transfer windows.

The report also claims that United have been impressed with Militao’s performances for the Portuguese champions and is ready to meet the £45 million valuation that has been placed on the head of the defender.

Although Solskjaer is not permanent boss, he is still expected to bring in a few players over the course of the enxt few weeks as United need to improve to get back into the Champions League hunt

Is Militao the answer for United?

United are in need of signing some world class players to improve that back-line and mount a serious challenge for the premier League title, and although Militao has been impressive this season for Porto, he is not the answer.

Any player is able to look good over in the Portuguese League and that is also the case here, Militao does not posses the quality and ability to be a success at either United or Chelsea.
