Solskjaer told impressing defender Rodon will ‘be far from cheap’ for Manchester United this summer
Swansea boss Steve Cooper insists rumoured United target Joe Rodon would be far from cheap.
Manchester United are reportedly ready to go crazy in the summer window and spend some money in order to buy some world class players that will improve the side enough to challenge for more than a top four spot next season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows that he needs to improve that back-line of his in the transfer window, and has been linked with some big names, but he has also been linked with a shock move for Wales centre-back Rodon.
Rodon was very impressive for Swansea before the coronavirus stopped play and United scouts have been reporting back to Solskjaer, which is why he has been linked with a move to Old tarfford.
But Cooper says no club has yet come in for the 22-year-old, and also admitted that Manchester United will have to pay some big money if they are to sign up the talented defender this summer.
He told the BBC: “Joe is an outstanding player and just as good a person as well.
“But there hasn’t been any interest at the moment and I know he is a talking point and somebody tells me he is in the papers.
“But there has been absolutely nothing official going on… the whole market is going to be interesting.. because I don’t think there will be loads of players bought with fees.
“I don’t think the chairman will be selling anyone on the cheap, that’s for sure, because we have got a good few assets at the club and we don’t want to lose them.”
Look, Rodon may be impressing over at Swansea, but we are fir believers that United need to take some risks and spend money of world class defenders, not up and coming ones that Harry Maguire will need to keep an eye on at the back.
