Manchester offer made? Germans CEO confirms offer to sign £100 million creative force Sancho
Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed the club did receive an approach from an unnamed European giant for Manchester United target Jadon Sancho.
The 19-year-old England international, who left Manchester City to join the Bundesliga outfit in 2017, emerged as a top summer target for United, but Dortmund refused to sell and United were not prepared to pay such a big amount for the youngster.
The lad is a creative force and was one of the top assist players in Europe last season, and considering United are in need of adding some much needed excitement, goals and creativity on the wings, the lad is growing into their perfect signing.
And despite not admitting who the club were, Watzke has admitted that there was an offer arrive during the summer transfer window, with many believing that United were that club.
“A chief of one of the super clubs asked me if there was a chance [to sign him],” Watzke told Ruhr Nachrichten.
“I told him he should forget about it and he never contacted me again.”
Yes he still has a lot to prove in the game to warrant that £100 million price tag and yes the Red Devils will have to beat off a number of top clubs to nail down his signature, but if they were able to acquire the services of the young man they would be signing one of the best wingers in Europe right now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot to do over the coming seasons to improve this United side enough to be challenging again, but spending a big amount on this young man would certainly go a long way into achieving that.
If there is a chance for United to sign up Sancho, they should definitely take it.
So maybe next summer, or even the January transfer window, United will make more of a firm offer as they still need to add that x-factor signing to the club in the coming transfer windows, and despite his age, Sancho could be that man?
