Jose Mourinho ‘would love to sell’ Manchester United’s £300,000-a-week Sanchez
Jose Mourinho would love to sell Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas.
Sanchez has flopped since joining Manchester United from Arsenal in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, and has been heavily criticised for his performances and work-rate for the side, especially since he claims a £300,000-a-week wages.
That has led to constant speculation that a number of clubs from both Spain and Italy are preparing offers to try and temp United into doing a deal this coming January transfer window.
And Nicolas has claimed Mourinho would sell the Chilean star when the first real opportunity arises for the club, claiming on the Sky Sports website: “It’s on the edge with (Paul) Pogba being left out, and (Juan) Mata being left out the other night.
“I think in a heartbeat they would love to get rid of Sanchez.
“He could be one of the biggest wastes of money within our game because of the salary that he’s got and because of the ability that we’ve seen before.
“I think it’s right on the edge again, I think it’s right on the edge.
“A lot of the players look as if it’s truly individual and just trying to survive and come through.
“(Maroaune) Fellaini has been the one that’s dragged himself saying ‘I’m fighting for the manager after showing me faith’.
“I think the rest of them look as if ‘well, in a matter of time Jose could be out of the door’.
Does Mourinho really want to sell Sanchez?
Sanchez was supposed to be the player that came in and added that something extra to the United squad, be that game changer that Mourinho was in desperate need of. But he looks like a deer lost in the headlights at times for United.
He has not been the same player he was at Arsenal and has become a real hinderance rather than an asset, so if the right money comes in, then yes would get rid of the winger without any complications.
