Official announcement made – Man United have completed first summer deal
Man United have signed 16-year-old goalkeeper Elyh Harrison from Stevenage – and the move has already been confirmed
Man United have been in the transfer headlines alot over the past few months as Erik Ten Hag needs to sign some players that will make a real difference to the squad for next season
But the clubs first summer signing of the transfer window may not be one of the biggest that the club will make – but the Man United coaches have been impressed with the performances of Harrison
And only after a few weeks – the Red Devils have decided to bring him to the club – and Boro chairman Phil Wallace has already confirmed the move and said: “Our very best wishes go to Elyh, and we will follow his career with interest.
“This is the fourth young player in four years that has been signed from Stevenage’s Academy to a Premier League club.
“We have negotiated all of these transfers outside of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP) system and therefore delivers significant funding to the club, alongside a continued financial interest in their success, justifying our huge investment in the Academy.
“We will continue to upgrade our excellent facilities and invest in the infrastructure that develops young players capable of playing at the highest level of football.”
We do not know much about the lad but he will be welcomed by many at the club – and if he is as good as many believe – then he will hopefully be ready to make an impact on that first team in a couple of seasons
