Sorry Liverpool! Manchester United looking to sign up 22-goal winger for £80 million this summer?
Reports have claimed Manchester United are willing to spend £80 million to try and secure a summer transfer deal for Liverpool transfer target Jadon Sancho.
Sancho is now considered one of the most exciting and gifted talents in world football after taking the Bundesliga by storm, and Borussia Dortmund were so confident he was the future of the club that they allowed star man Christian Pulisic to agree a £57 million move to Chelsea during the January transfer window.
His performances has not only led to him being involved in 22 goals in 24 games this season, but he has also earned an International call-up by England boss Gareth Southgate, who also believes that the winger can become one of the very best in world football.
But according to reports on the Daily Express website website, United are looking to freshen up the side in the summer transfer window and add a bit more creativity and width to the side, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hoping to build a side that is capable of winning the Premier League, with Sancho on the shopping list.
The reports suggest that United are willing to back Solskjaer in the transfer market and are ready to fend off Liverpool and PSG to secure a deal for Sancho, with a £80 million seemingly the price set by the German giants.
Would signing Sancho be a good move by United?
The numbers speak for themselves and the winger certainly has that star quality most players need to be top-class in the game, but right now he is developing very nicely in the Bundesliga and making a move away this early in his career could ruin his development.
United already have a brilliant attack and do not need to spend much money on improving, so maybe the best thing for Solskjaer to do is improve the back-line and midfield areas before spending £100 million on the talented Sancho.
Sancho will eventually develop into a world class star, but right now the best thing for his young career should be to stay put.
