£60 million rated Skriniar opens up on possibly joining Man United in January
Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has responded to speculation Jose Mourinho wants to sign him during the January transfer window.
With the special one not happy with his current defence, and speculation Arsenal and Tottenham are chasing Eric Bailly, Mourinho has reportedly put the £60 million rated Skriniar on his shopping list for the January transfer window.
Skriniar has fast become one of the best centre-halves in the Italian League and his composure and dominance in the heart of the back-line has attracted Mourinho to a possible transfer deal, if the Red Devils coach can get the backing of the hierarchy to get a deal done.
And Skriniar has come out and responded to the speculation, when he was asked about the rumours and Skriniar told Sport.sk: ‘Yes, but I don’t know if it’s true.
‘Personally, I don’t know, as the transfer window has just shit, so it’s hard for me to say anything.
‘There was some noise in the summer, but nothing happened, so I’m not letting it bother me.’
Could Skriniar sign for United in the January transfer window? Here is what we think.
Playing for such a big club like United would attract any player to Old Trafford, even if the club are not performing at their very best at the moment.
But the problem Mourinho faces is that his future is still in serious doubt and the hierarchy may not want to back the special one in the next transfer market, as they will want to save funds for the next coach to arrive.
So yes defender Skriniar could sign for United in the next transfer window, but we feel that a move will not materialise as his £60 million price tag may be more than the club are prepared to pay half way through the new season.
