Legend Ardiles tells Tottenham ‘they have no chance’ of keeping £70m rated Manchester United target Eriksen
Spurs legend Ossie Ardiles believes Tottenham have no chance of keeping Manchester United transfer target Christian Eriksen this summer.
Eriksen has become a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the past few seasons and is one of the creative reasons why they score so many goals throughout the course of the season, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club.
It is believed that the Danish star has refused three contract offers from Spurs over the past few months, with the latest reportedly close to the £110,000-a-week mark, with the likes of Real Madrid and United keen on a transfer deal.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a firm favourite to the midfielder, and would love to add his creativity to a United side that is lacking in top-class talent.
And amid all the transfer speculation surrounding his future, Ardiles has now claimed that Spurs have no chanced of keeping hold of the midfielder this summer as he mind is already made up.
He told talkSPORT: “It looks to me like he has put his mind on a move – that he wants to go somewhere else,
“I won’t say he’s not happy with us, because he is, but his mind is trying to play somewhere else, and the best thing is to part company.”
Eriksen is loved by sections of Spurs fans, and hated by the other such is his inconsistency in big games for Spurs.
Tottenham do not want to lose one of their best players this summer, but if the right offer is made to Tottenham, then they will be open to selling.
However, Spurs will surely not want to sell one of their most influential players at the club to one of their top four rivals next season, especially as it would mean more of a battle to get back playing Champions League football on a yearly basis.
But if they receive the right offer from United, then they should let him leave as they could easily find an adequate replacement
