Erik ten Hag is eager for Manchester United to sign Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui – and talks have been held
The winger has failed to put together any sort of consistency since his move to the Theatre of Dreams in the summer of 2022 and has looked nothing like the player that dominated at Ajax.
Ten Hag has publicly backed the £86million man, despite his woes in front of goal. But according to ESPN, he’s willing to let the Brazilian leave on loan this summer provided potential suitors pay the entirety of his £70,000-a-week wage.
Ten Hag was been trying to being in players that will help the club make more of a challenge for that Premier League and Champions League over the next few seasons – and he is keen to get rid of players that have struggled over the past few seasons.
But his agent Junior Pedroso has confirmed that the player has no intention of leaving Manchester United in the ongoing window – Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, Pedroso said, “I see reports about potential exit on loan. Antony’s plan is clear: Manchester United. He wants to stay, he’s only focused on Man United. We already spoke about that with the club.”
Now it seems that Erik Ten Hag is keen to sign one of the Brazilians former team-mates in order to get the best out of Antony.
United have held ‘concrete’ talks with Bayern over a move for Mazraoui – another of ten Hag’s former Ajax players who won three Eredisivise titles under the Dutchman before heading to Germany in 2022.
Mazraoui and Antony forged an understanding operating down the right during their days together at Ajax with ten Hag believing the full-back’s presence can improve Antony’s performances, The Times report.

Antony has been awful since his move to Old Trafford and has not looked good enough to play in that Manchester United side – so letting him depart the club in the coming weeks will be a good decision to make.
United do need to sign another right-back – but even the quality of Mazraoui may not be able to get Antony playing at his best again.
FOFANA WANTED –
It has again been claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing Monaco star Youssef Fofana this summer.
After an impressive season in France – Fofana is now player that Manchester United are very much interested in signing as Erik Ten Hag wants to add some more depth to that midfield that he has.
Fofana has talked up the chances of a move away from Monaco this summer but despite the reports that Man United are very keen on the star – it seemed that a move to AC Milan was on the cards.
But reports from his homeland claim United are now ready to hijack the move. That would see the Red Devils muscle in on a Milan deal for the second time this summer, having already pinched Joshua Zirkzee from their clutches.
Cesc Fabregas recently claimed that he believes that Youssouf Fofana would thrive in the Premier League:
‘I know him, I played with him,’ Fabregas recently said on the BBC’s Planet Premier League podcast when asked about Fofana and whether he could be heading to the English top-flight.
‘Funnily enough I never heard about Man United, I heard that he was going to AC Milan because [Paulo] Fonseca probably is going to go there from France and they know each other, so let’s see where he goes.
‘But he’s a very dynamic and strong player, good on the ball, a modern type of player, aggressive, can jump, he’s box to box. I really like Fofana and I think he fits very well with the Premier League style.’

Fofana could be a solid signing for Manchester United, but we would be very shocked if he joined the Red Devils over Milan as talks are quite advanced.
UNITED TO MAKE SIMONS MOVE –
Manchester United could make a huge bid for Xavi Simons and are ready to offer big money for the PSG star, according to the latest reports.
The 21-year-old, after bagging 19 goals and eight assists during a loan at PSV Eindhoven last season, has racked up seven goals and 16 assists during his stint at RB Leipzig this season.
There has been talk that he will head back to parent club PSG this coming season and could to be given a chance in their squad – but that has not stopped speculation that a number of Premier League clubs will make a cheeky offer for the talented attacker.
The Sun says that Manchester United are one of the clubs that are ready to pay some big money in order to try and get a transfer deal done for Simons – as Erik Ten Hag wants a few more signings this summer.
And Sport claims United are considering an £85million bid. But PSG fancy Bruno Fernandes and could demand the Portuguese ace in return.
Amid all the speculation that Manchester United are interested in a deal for the attacker – Ruud Van Nistelrooy recently sang the praises of the exciting star: “Xavi Simons is in the spotlight, he is not a new discovery, but I think that he will continue to grow to a world-class level.
“I had him at PSV, now he is at Leipzig taking his next steps. I say that he is a player for a great team even as a starter.
“He has character, he is professional, he is focused on getting the most out of his potential.
“And then he has quality, he is very complete, he knows how to do many things well. He can dribble, he scores goals, he is great in transitions, he plays in small spaces. I see him as very complete.”
