Man United board to announce Erik Ten Hag decision very soon!

Manchester United could be in line to make an announcement over Erik ten Hag’s future in the Old Trafford dugout ‘very soon’, according to journalist Dean Jones

A poor, injury-hit second season in the hotseat has heaped pressure on the Dutchman and a report on the eve of the game claimed the club had decided to fire him regardless of the result at Wembley.

But there was no sign of distraction under the arch as Ten Hag’s side shocked neighbours City, with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo scoring in a 2-1 win that sealed FA Cup glory.

Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and Kieran McKenna are among those to be linked with a job – and Jones understands that Manchester United began sounding out contenders to replace ten Hag before the FA Cup final, and Jim Ratcliffe is still planning to relieve the former Ajax head coach of his duties after making his mind up ahead of the clash with Manchester City last weekend.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “Manchester United were talking to candidates last week. All the talk has been that Erik ten Hag would be leaving after the FA Cup final, and we are now at the end of the season. He should know by now if he is staying or not.

“My information is that a decision was made and was not ever supposed to be impacted by how the FA Cup final played out, so that suggests to me that the outcome of any end-of-season review is already decided.

“It is actually quite disrespectful to let this drag out much longer and, if he is leaving, I expect an announcement around that very soon.”

That win over Man City showed that there is some quality in that Manchester United side and they fully deserved that trophy – but at the end of the day – over the course of the season United were heading backwards.

If ten Hag goes – the club needs to make sure that they make the right decision over their next boss.
