Man United to sack Ten Hag – United wants to sign elite £111m star – United possible destination for German
Here is a roundup of the top Man United news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Man United is a potential option for German boss Thomas Tuchel – as speculation over Erik Ten Hag continues to rage on.
Much speculation about his future has been in the headlines – and there has been some reports which have claimed that Tuchel could make a stunning move back to the Premier League with Man United
Now amid all the speculation – Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has come out and claimed that Chelsea and Manchester United are the only two choices for the German, he told Sky Sports: “My clear information from today about Thomas Tuchel is there are only two choices at this stage.
“Either he will make a break in the summer or he will join a Premier League club. This is clear for him and there are two possible destinations in England – Manchester United and Chelsea
“There has been a loose contact with United in the last couple of weeks and to my understanding, it is a target he would go for.
“He had a very high opinion about United, about their project, their history and their fans, and the quality of the squad.
“He feels his mission at Chelsea is not totally complete. So they are the two hot targets for Tuchel in the future.
“At this stage, it depends on the situation of Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino so I cannot say which is the front-runner but United is a project that Tuchel has the ambition to take over.
“He’s been following United for weeks and months. My feeling is that whichever club makes the first official approach for him has the best chance.”
OSIMHEN WANTED –
Manchester United have re-joined the chase to sign elite striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli over the summer transfer window.
United brought their Premier League campaign to a close with a 2-0 away victory against Brighton but pressure remains on Ten Hag after a tough campaign, but the Red Devils finished eighth and are set to miss out on European football for the first time since 2015.
The FA Cup will give Manchester United the chance to win a trophy and possibly get into Europe – but they are coming up one of the most dominant sides in the game right now and the current Premier League champions.
The lack of goals has been a real issue for Ten Hag this season as the young Rasmus Hojlund is still coming to terms with playing for one of the biggest sides in the game in arguably the toughest League.
Osimhen and Napoli have endured an underwhelming season in 2023-24, however. The player has missed a host of games due to injury, illness and the Africa Cup of Nations, though he has still managed 17 goals in 31 appearances
He is leaving the Italian giants at some point in the summer window, with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG just three clubs that are reportedly interested in a deal for the £111 million rated striker.
But according to reports emerging from Italy, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Man Utd have burst back into the race for Osimhen.
The reports adds that Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial have already been confirmed as leaving. Ratcliffe could sell other players including Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Antony, Casemiro, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Christian Eriksen to help him match Osimhen’s £111m price tag

Manchester United spent all that money on signing Hoijlund when they could have signed Harry Kane for pretty much the same price – and he is banging in 30 goals this season at Bayern Munich.
Hoilund is a project that needs time to develop into the world class striker that many believe he could become – but he is not ready to lead that United attack.
But Osimhen could be a very expensive risk to take for the club
MAN UNITED WILL SACK TEN HAG CLAIM
Rio Ferdinand believes Erik ten Hag will be sacked by Manchester United even if he wins the FA Cup at the end of the month
There has been alot of speculation about the future of Ten Hag – but even if he wins that FA Cup against Man City – Ferdinand has opened up and claimed that the Dutchman will still probably get the sack by the board.
‘The more and more I think about it, win or lose, I don’t think Ten Hag will be there come next season,’ the former United defender said, speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel.
‘I’m not saying that’s what I want, I’m just saying what I believe is going to happen, and I believe that the club are going to look elsewhere I think.
‘I don’t think [winning the FA Cup] changes anything in the eyes of INEOS. I’ve not spoken to anyone there, this is just an assumption, this is what I think.’
‘Put injuries aside, the performances of the team have been so bad. Most teams have had injuries, maybe not to the same extent as Man United,’ he added.
‘I keep saying this, I sound like a broken record: performance level can drop but your style of football should be there to identify. It’s not. I don’t know what we are. I don’t know who we are. Who are we as a team? What are we?
‘We rely [on Bruno Fernandes]. And that would be an alarm bell for me. The moment Bruno came out of the team, the fall-off of that team was a joke. The worst performances I’ve seen in many, many years against Crystal Palace.
