Manchester United told to sell £100 million Real Madrid target Pogba this summer
Tony Cascarino has urged Manchester United to offload Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid keen on a transfer deal.
Despite his recent good form under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, there has been a lot of criticism about the performances of the Frenchman during his three year stay at old Trafford as many feel that he has not justified the massive £90 million price tag that United paid to nail down his services.
It has led to a lot of transfer speculation in the media all suggesting that Madrid are ready to swoop in and take him to the Bernabeu, having been linked with a deal well before he eventually signed for United.
And despite Solskjaer coming out and believing that Pogba will be at United next season, Cascarino has come out and tole the Red Devils to cash in on the Frenchman.
“This August will be three years of Paul Pogba. How has he been in those three years?” he said.
“We’ve seen some really good highs. He’s had his moments but not consistent enough and not brilliant enough to be a player you want to build a team around.
“He’s 26-years-old. I, personally, would sell him.
“Why? You would get a fantastic fee for him that would enable you to build a team of other players that would contribute if not the same or more than Pogba can.
“I think United have had an alright Paul Pogba. No better than that. I think he’s had good moments. What would you give him out of 10 for his three year period? Seven at best.”
It is true that Pogba has not showed the type of brilliance that he showed at Juventus, and has only looked like a £100 million player over the past few months, but that is the effect that Jose Mourinho has on big players, he even managed to help the players lose the United way of playing.
But selling the Frenchman would be a massive mistake from United right now as he is finally coming into his own and being the player that many fans had hoped. There will be many that will criticise his every performance, but Solskjaer is the boss and he wants Pogba in the squad, he does not need to listen to anybody over the next few months.
If Pogba asks to leave, sell him, if he doesn’t, just get on with it.
