Manchester United told target Eriksen wants to leave Tottenham in summer
Manchester United have been told Christian Eriksen wants to leave Tottenham at the end of the season.
Eriksen has become a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the past few seasons and is one of the creative reasons why they score so many goals throughout the course of the season, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club.
It is believed that the Danish star has refused three contract offers from Spurs over the past few months, with the latest reportedly close to the £110,000-a-week mark, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, United and Barcelona all keeping a close eye.
And Sky Sports pundit Andy Townsend has claimed that Eriksen has decided he wants to leave the club at the end of the season.
“I think [Christian] Eriksen has already decided he’s going to go, once a player gets to this point I don’t think you are playing Spurs poker anymore,” he said on Sky Sports’ The Debate.
“I think Eriksen has enjoyed his time at Spurs, and yes there’s a new dawn around the corner, but you’re always going to be one or two that come out of there. I think he will be the first to go.
“I like James Maddison. I think he’s come in and adapted very well for life in the Premier League and I think he’s shown he can finish.
“He’s very good with his set plays, he’s clever. Is he Christian Eriksen’s class or quality yet? No, he’s a mile away from that.”
Could United make a summer move?
It is no secret that United are fans of a number of players at Tottenham and would make a move if the right players on the market become available, so if Eriksen is available, they will surely make a move.
