Shock move? Manchester United told to make move and hire impressing Leeds boss Bielsa

Manchester United should move to appoint Marcelo Bielsa as their new manager, pundit David Preece has claimed.

United recently sacked Jose Mourinho after two and a half seasons at Old Trafford and quickly appointed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer until the end of the season, despite the fact he has had such a great start to life as boss.

Solskjaer has not only brought back the fun, attacking football United like to play, but has brought back the good vibes and positive vibe which Mourinho had seemingly taken away with all his negativity.

That has led to speculation that United are hoping to tempt Mauricio Pochettino, Zinedine Zidane or Max Allegri to Old Trafford at the end of the season. But Preece has claimed United should make a move for Leeds boss Bielsa.

Preece said on the Football Writers Podcast: “I don’t think he [Bielsa] would go, but I’m surprised that anybody else hasn’t mentioned it because if you can’t get [Pep] Guardiola and you can’t get [Mauricio] Pochettino, who do you get? Who’s close to that?

“Too much of a loose cannon? Maybe, I mean he hasn’t really been given a club like Manchester United to hold the reins of, but I mean look at him now though.

“He’s top of the Championship now, he’s so reluctant to bring any players in, he’s playing players who are 17 and 18 years old.”

Would Bielsa be a good choice from United?

United have a number of possible targets they have before they make a move for Bielsa and that should be the case, as the Argentine is still learning the English game over at Leeds.

United need a manager that will be at the club for the long-term and although Bielsa is impressing at Leeds, he would not be the right man to lead the club.
