Spurs boss Pochettino opens up on future after Manchester United links emerge
Mauricio Pochettino has reiterated his commitment to Tottenham, amid speculation Manchester United are lining up a move.
Reports have surfaced linking Pochettino with United over the past few weeks, as reports in the media all suggest the Red Devils are becoming frustrated at current boss Jose Mourinho.
Despite picking up an impressive 4-1 win at the weekend, United are still well down in the chase for the Premier League title, and are not looking like a side that could even get back into a top four spot.
And Pochettino, who is regarded as one of the best young coaches in world football, is just the type of manager they would love, as he would bring desire, hunger and a new style of play to Old Trafford.
but the Argentine insists he is more than satisfied with the “recognition” he receives at Spurs.
“Tottenham has given me value,” he said on the Sky Sports website.
“I feel happy here in Tottenham because I feel the recognition for our job. We feel that.
“When (chairman) Daniel Levy extended my contract for five years, it is because he believed in that moment and period, we are the best people to manage this boat and this club. It is recognition for us.
“I don’t need to listen about what goes around. The most important thing is how you are made to feel in your home.”
Could United ever tempt Pochettino from Spurs?
United have a great history and are still one of the biggest clubs in world football, but right now Spurs are the more attractive side to be in and Pochettino is building something he hopes will bring success back to the club.
United need a lot of work, and a lot of money, to get back to the very top of the game and Pochettino knows it would take years of work to get the club back to their best.
If he ever leaves Spurs it will be for Real Madrid or Barcelona.
