Man United urged to sign 12-goal star – United target NOW FREE AGENT – United told £85M will sign striker
Here is a roundup of the top Manchester United news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
Wolves striker Matheus Cunha might be Manchester United’s “missing link”, according to Louis Saha.
Cunha’s current contract at Wolves, which he signed upon arrival last summer, runs through to 2027 but there has been alot of speculation that he is one player that could depart Wolves this summer.
The 25-year-old enjoyed an impressive first full campaign with Wolves,, racking up 12 goals and seven assists in the Premier League and he is reportedly a player that Manchester United are ready to splash £60 million on signing.
And amid the speculation and rumours – it has been claimed that he could be the missing link for United, That’s the claim of ex-Old Trafford attacker Louis Saha after the Brazilian’s first full season in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old, who has 11 caps, could cost close to £60million.But Saha told Betfred: “‘Every time I see him play, he’s very creative, very powerful.
“He can break any line, and that kind of skill he’s got is the missing link that United need.
“He’s a player that’s capable of accelerating the game, whether that’s by him passing the ball or dribbling, and he possesses a lot of quality.”
However – it appears Cunha has no intention of ditching Wolves for Man United just yet – with the forward quizzed on his future while in attendance at Botafogo’s victory over Athletic in his home town of Joao Pessoa.
‘Whenever I can, I come along [to Botafogo]. I always want to show that [the affection] is reciprocated,’ Cunha recently told Brazilian publication Globo Esporte.
‘Then we see that talk [regarding Manchester United]. But I’m very happy at Wolves.’
‘My focus is on resting and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves,’ he added.
‘The focus now is on having better seasons and helping the club.
‘God willing, I’ll continue on this path.’

Ten Hag knows the type of player that he needs to sign this summer in order to get his side back in the hunt for Champions League football – but is Cunha really the answer for the Red Devils.
He has an impressive season for Wolves – but Manchester United are a massive step up for the man – he will not bang in 12 goals as the pressure will surely get to him.
UNITED TOLD TO SIGN CUNHA –
Long-standing Manchester United target Mats Hummels has been released by Borussia Dortmund.
The defender helped the German giants reach the Champions League final, which they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid – but will now be a free agent this summer after the club allowed him to depart the side.
This follows after Edin Terzic headed out of the exit door after the Dortmund boss resigned over a bust-up between the pair, and the news will give Man United the chance to get a transfer deal done.
Erik Ten Hag is seeking to improve his squad this transfer window and is hoping to get some backing from the Manchester United board – despite the shocking Premier League season the club has just had and all the rumours that have been circling the Dutchmans future.

Hummels is one of the most experienced defenders in the Bundesliga and it has come as a massive surprise to see that he is now a free agent after Dortmund released him.
He may not be in his prime – but he showed last season taht he is still able to keep pace with even the best of attackers – so if Ten Hag is looking to add some experience and leadership to the side, Hummels could be his guy.
Many doubted that Thiago Silva would be able to play in the Premier League because of his age – but top defenders know how to play the game and Hummels could certainly teach that Manchester United back-line a thing or two.
And the fact he could be signed on a free is a massive bonus – not too much money will have to get spent.
£85M FOR GYOKERES –
Sporting Lisbon are demanding a huge sum from the likes of Manchester United for Sweden striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has scored 43 goals in 50 outings for Sporting and is one of the form attacking players in European football this term, with many reports in the media suggesting that he could be sold in the coming transfer window.
Europe’s elite are queueing up to prise the Sweden international away from Lisbon after his stunning start to life with Sporting, and Manchester United are one of the clubs that are desperate to delve into that transfer kitty and add a 30 goals a season forward to that attack
Benjamin Sesko seemed to be the number one transfer target for United – but he has reportedly made the decision to snub a move away from RB Leipzig this transfer window and stay put for at least another Bundesliga season.
Man United would want to negotiate a fee in the region of £50m-£60m, but his club are unwilling to let him leave on the cheap and will be demanding his £85 million release clause is met before allowing him to depart the side.

He may be good enough for that Portuguese League – but he could really struggle to make the impact that he would like in the Premier League – it is another level.
The Red Devils need a striker that could give the club different options – give them a chance of adding some more goals in a weekly basis and we are just not sure that Gyokeres is the man for that.
There are plenty of options for Manchester United in the Premier League and we are sure that there are a few strikers that fans would love to see arrive. So paying £85 million may be far too much for the Red Devils this transfer window.
