Big news from Spain after Zidane sends Manchester United message about £100 million Real Madrid star
Real Madrid chiefs have labelled Manchester United target Raphael Varane ‘untransferable’, according to Zinedine Zidane.
Regarded as one of the finest defenders in the game right now, the Frenchman has won three La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies among other honours since arriving in 2011.
However, there has been some shock speculation in the media over the past few days which have suggested that Madrid would be open to the idea of letting Varane leave the club in the coming windows in order to raise some funds.
It is no secret that the COVID-19 has affected this finances of clubs around the world, and with this Madrid side aging, there is reportedly a need to replenish the ranks at the Bernabeu and bring in some fresh meat, both defensively and in attack.
But Los Blancos boss Zidane has moved quickly to quash the idea, Speaking ahead of Real’s 1-1 draw at Villareal on Saturday, Zidane said: “It’s not just me [that wants to keep him].
“He is part of this club, we were very lucky to be able to bring him to Madrid.
“He has a great career, he’s achieved a lot since he’s been here.
“Of course, he is ‘un-transferable’ for the club, for the coach that I am, for people in general.
“That’s clear and unambiguous. Now we can’t stop people from talking.”
It would have been a massive shock to see Varane leave the club as he is one of the very best defenders in the game, but if there was a chance for United to get a transfer deal done, he would be a world class signing and one that would send a real statement
