Ten Hag ‘will be lucky’ to get two new Man United signings valued at £80
Manchester United have been warned they’ll be lucky to sign two Ajax stars this summer – with Edson Alvarez and Antony both wanted
Erik Ten Hag brought Antony to Ajax in 2020 and the forward, 22, has racked up 22 goals and 20 assists in his 79 appearances as well as two Eredivisie titles – developing into one of the best wingers in Europe right now
He is a player that Ten hag really wants a player that the club are reportedly closing in on signing in a deal that could cost the club around £40 million this summer
And Alvarez is now a player that ten Hag fancies reuniting with at Man United – as he would be the ideal candidate to fill the void of Paul Pogba -many reports in the media have claimed
But amid all the speculation – Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan has claimed that Man United will be very lucky to sign two players form Ajax during the course of the transfer window
“So many Ajax players are being linked with Ten Hag and Manchester United, and of course he can’t take them all,” he told talkSPORT.
“I think he’s lucky if he gets two.
“Why? Ajax have no need to sell any more. They’re just about to do a £38million deal to sell Sebastien Haller to Borussia Dortmund – that looks done.
“Their books have always been balanced over the last few years and they have said they want to keep their squad together.
“They’ll let go of one or two, Haller was the first one and the Mexican Edson Alvarez is the other one – he can go.
“Now, for every other player, they’re going to play hard-ball, so if Man United want Antony they’ll have to come up with a massive amount of cash.
“We do know here that Ten Hag has said the cash – which is available – let’s first spend it on Frenkie de Jong and if there is more possible, we’ll look then.”
