Manchester United have approached Cristiano Ronaldo about making Old Trafford return
Manchester United have approached Cristiano Ronaldo about returning to the club next season, according to ESPN broadcaster Christian Martin.
Regarded as one of the finest players of his generation and a player that is considered one of the very best of all-time, the Portuguese superstar helped the Italians to another League title last season as he once again proved that he is still at the top of his game.
However, injury and Covid-19 has meant that he has not made the same kind of impact on the side this season, and now Juventus are planning to put Cristiano Ronaldo on the market next summer – according to recent reports on AS.
The Bianconeri are hoping to recoup a major chunk of their €100 million (£90m/$119m) investment in the Portuguese by selling him a year before his current contract expires, with the reports claiming Juve think it is risky to extend Ronaldo’s stay given the fact he turns 36 in February, and can no longer justify meeting his lofty wage demands.
And according to the ESPN broadcaster, United have made their moves in order to try to convince Ronaldo to make a move back to Old Trafford and the Premier League, a club that he still holds dear to his heart.
Ronaldo has proven himself in the Premier League, La Liga and the Italian Leagues, he has won multiple trophies and scored hundreds of goals, he is one of the best players of all time and it will be sad to see him lave the top leagues for the likes of the MLS or China.
It would be a dream for many to see the great man make the move back to Old Trafford, but there will also be many that hope a deal does not take place, because he is not the same player he was first time around.
But it is a stunning claim right?
