Manchester United told £42.5 million will be ‘UNIT’ signed this summer!
Manchester United have been linked to Ousmane Diomande in the past and could be on alert amid reports his price has been slashed by Sporting.
There is still a lot of speculation surrounding the players that Erik Ten Hag will look to sign during the summer window, especially with the fact that Rafa Varane has departed the club after struggling to make the impact many desired.
That has led to some rumours in the media which have claimed that Manchester United tried to get a transfer deal done for Diomande in the last few days of the last Summer window, but a €35million (£30m) bid rejected.
Diomande, who has an £70m release clause, quickly became a regular in the Sporting defence following his arrival at the start of the year, making his European debut against the Gunners in the Europa League.
But now £42.5million could be enough, a figure below his £70m release clause. As A Bola suggest Sporting’s feeling is the defender struggled towards the end of the season and they will not be able to get too money for Diomande.
Reporter Iomie Stanley has said that he could be a very good signing for the Red Devils – he is a unit – he told icfootballnews: ‘Diomande has been very impressive this season and it would be interesting to see if he could handle the pressure of playing for one of the big clubs in the Premier League.
‘And the fact that he would add depth to the squad for not a lot of money, it could be a great buy from that Man United board and could be a player that adds some more quality to that Red Devils squad.
‘£42.5 million is alot of money for the lad – but he is a real unit and sombody that would add more quality to that side.’
