Ajax Director of football Marc Overmars has told chasing Arsenal that winger Hakin Ziyech will be leaving the Dutch Champions this season.
Arsenal are currently preparing for their all English tie against Chelsea in the Europa League as they bid to become European Champions and get that all important spot in next seasons Champions League, after missing out on the top four in the Premier League.
But that has not stopped speculation that Unai Emery is seeking to spend a big amount of money and bring in a few more players by August 8th, with Ziyech a name that has been mentioned as a possible arrival at the Emirates.
The 26-year-old has been one of the standout stars of Ajax’s squad this season, weighing in with 16 goals and 13 assists in the Eredivisie from a wide midfield position as he helped Ajax clinch their first League title in five years while also reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
However, he is heading for the exit signs over the next few weeks as Ajax look set to lose a number of their talented youngsters, with reports he has a £25 million release clause in his current contract.
Addressing Ziyech’s future, Overmars said on Telefoot: ‘He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been told Matthijs de Ligt’s future is in his own hands but Barcelona are confident of tempting him to Spain.
Regarded as one of the finest talents in world football right now, De ligt has been linked with a transfer move to every elite club in Europe over the past few months after helping Ajax claim their first League title in five years and reaching the Semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in a decade.
Arsenal and United have shown strong interest in completing a £61 million deal for the Dutchman over the past few months, with both Unai Emery and Old Gunnar Solskjaer desperate t to spend some money and acquire the players that would get them challenging for the Premier League title once again.
However, they face competition from Spanish giants Barcelona, who are reportedly leading the chase for De Ligt and are ready to complete a deal soon after De Ligt gets back from his holidays.
And Balague, asked about De Ligt’s future on his ‘Ask Guillem’ YouTube series, said: “De Ligt, of course, is possibly going to Barcelona.
“There’s been meetings between Barcelona and [De Ligt’s agent] Mino Raiola in recent weeks and also Barcelona and Ajax.
“They’re willing to pay about €70m (£61m), Ajax are happy with that. It’s now down to the player where he wants to go to.”

Former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly backed Arsenal’s move for winger Ismalia Sarr this summer.
It is no secret that boss Unai Emery is keen to improve his attack this summer, with the Spanish boss desperate to add a bit more width and creativity to an attack that has reached the Europa League finals.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Hakim Ziyech and even Wilfred Zaha have all been linked with a possible move to the Emirates as all are seeking a summer move away from their respective clubs, but another name that has been mentioned as a possible signing is that of Sarr.
Sarr has been one of Rennes’ star players this season with 12 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances for the French club and Mourinho has admitted that Arsenal would be signing a player with huge potential is they manage to secure a £25 million deal.
‘I can tell you that in the top three clubs in your league this season – Paris Saint-Germain, Lille and Lyon – you have extremely talented players who everyone knows already,’ Mourinho said in an interview with RMC.
‘If I speak [about players] I think that their agents will be very happy.
‘But for example, I like Allan Saint-Maximin, I like his speed, and I think Ismaila Sarr has a little bit of [Ousmane] Dembele in him.
‘There are a lot of players in Ligue 1 who have great potential.’
Reports have claimed Arsenal are prepared to activate the £32 million clause in Roma’s star Kostas Manolas contract this summer.
Centre-back Manolas is much sought after and has been linked with a move to Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid over the past few months after impressing on a number of ocassions for the Italian side, who currently value him much higher than his release clause
Arsenal were keen on Manolas last summer but a deal failed to materialise as Unai Emery did not have the required funds to complete a deal for the Seria A star, especially as he spent all his money on the likes of Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Sokratis.
However, Arsenal know they need to start spending the big money and signing the kind of world class players that their rivals are currently acquiring if they have a chance of picking up the Premier League in the next couple of seasons, and Manolas is one of those players.
And According to Il Messaggero, several Roma players have been unhappy with the way De Rossi’s exit has been handled and are now considering their own futures, with the defender eyeing up a move to the Premier League.
